Abstract
Magistrsko delo se ukvarja s podrobno preučitvijo vpliva otomanske kuhinje na nacionalno identiteto Severne Makedonije. Cilj te raziskave je analizirati zastopanost tega vpliva v sodobnih medijih, vključno s platformami družbenih medijev, tako s kvalitativno kot s kvantitativno metodo. Študija vključuje poglobljene intervjuje z ljudmi, ki prihajajo iz S. Makedonije in celovito analizo vsebine platform družbenih medijev za boljše razumevanje povezave med otomansko kuhinjo in nacionalno identiteto Severne Makedonije. Ugotovitve te študije razkrivajo, da je otomansko obdobje imelo močan vpliv na kulinaričnih praks Severne Makedonije in ta vpliv je še vedno prisoten in prikazana v medijih. Rezultati študije dajejo tudi vpogled v to, kako lahko reprezentacija hrane v digitalnih medijih prispeva k oblikovanju nacionalne identitete države. Platforme družbenih medijev imajo zlasti pomembno vlogo pri širjenju kulinaričnih informacij in študija kaže, da lahko močno vplivajo na identiteto naroda. To magistrsko delo predstavlja dragocen prispevek k našemu razumevanju odnosa med hrano, kulturo in identiteto v Severni Makedoniji ter poglobljeno analizo vpliva otomanske kuhinje na severnomakedonsko identiteto in nakazuje, da je razumevanje kulinarične dediščine narod je ključnega pomena za razumevanje svoje kulturne in nacionalne identitete.

Title:Influence of the Ottoman Cuisine on the National Identity of North Macedonia
Abstract:
This master's thesis delves into a detailed examination of the impact of Ottoman cuisine on the national identity of North Macedonia. The objective of this research is to analyze the representation of this influence in contemporary media, including social media platforms, through both qualitative and quantitative methods. The study involves in-depth interviews with experts in the field and a comprehensive content analysis of social media platforms to better understand the connection between Ottoman cuisine and the national identity of North Macedonia.The findings of this study reveal that the Ottoman period has had a profound effect on the culinary practices of North Macedonia, and this influence is still present in the way the country's cuisine is portrayed in the media. The results of the study also provide insight into how the representation of food in digital media can contribute to the shaping of a country's national identity. Social media platforms, in particular, play a significant role in disseminating culinary information, and the study suggests that they can have a profound impact on a nation's identity. This master's thesis makes a valuable contribution to our understanding of the relationship between food, culture, and identity in North Macedonia as well as an in-depth analysis of the impact of Ottoman cuisine on North Macedonian identity and suggests that understanding the culinary heritage of a nation is critical to comprehending its cultural and national identity.
