This article’s introduction provides an overview of the Slovenian minority and Slovenian language community in Graz, and local opportunities for learning Slovenian. The main part features a survey conducted among parents living in Graz that are raising their children bilingually or multilingually. A questionnaire and field research were used to assess the language situation at home, parents’ attitudes toward Slovenian and toward bilingualism or multilingualism, and parents’ familiarity with opportunities for learning Slovenian in the capital of Austrian Styria.
