The master's thesis focuses on researching the counselling relationship in online counselling. Although online counselling is not a novelty, its use has spread sharply among the population over the past few years. This also brought questions about its effectiveness to the spotlight, which is closely linked to the issue of establishing a high-quality counselling relationship through online tools for remote communication.
In the theoretical part of the thesis through a review of the literature, the study presents counselling in general, as well as the specifics of online counselling. Results of some of the research already carried out in the field of online counselling are listed and the dilemmas raised. Those concern different areas such as the establishment of a relationship online, the limitations and advantages of online counselling, technical aspects, ethical and legal dilemmas, etc.
In the empirical work, the experiencing of the relationship in online counselling when performing it via videoconferencing, is at the forefront. Through semi-structured interviews, personal experiences and experiencing of online counselling through the views of 4 counsellors and 3 users are shown.
The purpose of the research was to improve the knowledge of shaping of the counselling relationship online, to improve the general knowledge of online counselling in our country and to shed light on both the views of counsellors and users of the process itself.
