The master's thesis disscusses spatial problems of Trbovlje city center. Due to the citys specific location in the valley, the city does not have a strongly defined core. The thesis focuses on the three line distributed centers: business, cultural and sports center. Thus, the problem of the thesis is the degradation of these areas, inadequate public open spaces and poor mental image of space. The paper presents the geographical location of the city and selected area, then the theoretical starting points, the historical development of the city, the spatial development of the city, and an overview of the professional bases for spatial development. An overview of the current spacial situation is presented, comprising ofphotoinventory, morphogenesis, morphology, mental or perceptual analysis with the help of research, structural image, typology of buildings, land use and outdoor areas, inventory of green areas, analysis of possible water elements, and analysis of traffic regime. Through the analyzes, we extracted spatial problems, that are presented with photographs and thematic maps. The solution, conceptual design of the city centre Trbovlje, is a synthesis of all analyzes and is made with consideration of the space, that has formed through history and. The solution shows a new, sensibly arranged place with three centers, which are linked by a new connection – a path. It runs from the business center – Trg revolucije, through the cultural center, the square next to Delavski dom or Trg svobode, through the neighborhood Trg svobode to the sports center with the renovated Partizan playground and the new sports complex Rudar. The last part of the thesis contains a conceptual solution as well as a plan in the scale of 1:2000, cross-sections a description of the solution and spatial representations of the new situation.
