Prevajanje kulturnih realij (na primeru zbirke Vodič kroz srpski mentalitet) : magistrsko delo

V magistrski nalogi Prevajanje kulturnih realij (na primeru zbirke Vodič kroz srbski mentalitet) smo iz srbskega v slovenski jezik prevedli šestnajst zaključenih besedil, ki jih žanrsko uvrščamo v hibrid kratke zgodbe in eseja. Pri prevajanju smo posebno pozornost namenili kulturnim realijam ali kulturno specifični leksiki. O kulturnih realijah govorimo, ko se besedišče izhodiščnega in ciljnega jezika med seboj med seboj ne prekriva, zato je za prenos le-tega potreben poseben način obravnave, ki v prevodu ohranja normativne, slogovne in funkcijske elemente izvirnika. Pri prevajanju besedil iz zbirke Vodič kroz srbski mentalitet avtorja Moma Kaporja nas je zanimalo katere kategorije kulturnih realij so v zapisih prisotne in s katerimi prevajalskimi postopki jih v ciljni jezik najustrezneje prenesemo.

• Title: The translation of cultural realia (in the case of A Guide to the Serbian Mentality)

Abstract

The master's thesis The translation of cultural realia (in the case of A Guide to the Serbian Mentality) contains sixteen translated texts from Serbian to Slovene, which genre-wise belong to the short story-essay hybrid. We put a particular attention towards the cultural realia or, in other words, the culturally specific lexis. We are discussing the cultural realia, when the vocabularies of the source language and the target language do not overlap. That is why we need to apply a special treatment to these texts, which keeps the normative, stylistic and functional elements of the original in the translation. In the case of translating texts from A Guide to the Serbian Mentality by Momo Kapor we were interested in the categories of cultural realia present in the work and the translation strategies needed to transmit them suitably into the target-language.
