Introduction: Good mental health is important to the quality of life of all people. Nurses play an important role in the treating of patients with mental health disorders, as they spend the most time with them. Their attitude can affects patients care. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to present the attitude of nurses towards patients with mental health disorders. Methods: In the diploma work we used a descriptive method with a review of profesional and scientific literature. The critical period of the literature search was from March 2022 to August 2022. The literature was searched in the database Medline/PubMed, Google Schoolar and ScienceDirect in Slovene and English language. For the analysis we used 8 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Results: Our results showed that the nurse's attitudes towards patients with mental health disorders were negative. Factors influencing nurse's attitudes are clinical experience, years of service, achieved level of education, and job traning. Discussion and conclusion: It is important for nurses not to stigmatize patients with mental health disorders but to support them, express empathy and develop a positive attitude.
