As part of my thesis, I created five posters for young people on the topic of Slovenian literary tradition. Each poster includes an illustration of a selected fairy tale and a title that includes the lesson of said fairy tale. I decided on this topic because I wanted children and young people to have greater knowledge and interest in Slovenian folk literature, especially fairy tales.
In the theoretical part, I researched interpretations of national themes in illustration in Slovenia and delve deeper into specific target groups. I analyzed high-quality examples and looked for design features that can later be used in practical work.
As part of the practical work, I looked for suitable literature - five fairy tales of Slovenian folk origin. I extracted and analyzed their messages and teachings, which I express in the title of individual posters.
During the process, I tried several art techniques and styles and decided on the most appropriate one based on contemporary works for my target group. I combines the latter with traditional analog techniques and approaches to the design of space and text. The final result presents a modern message in a historical context.
