Abstract
V diplomskem delu so opisana različna dostopovna optična omrežja, bolj podrobno točka-točka (P2P) in točka-več točk (P2MP) pasivna optična omrežja v topologiji drevesa. To so vpihovanje optičnega kabla, priprava in varjenje vlaken, priključevanje uporabnikov in opravljanje končnih meritev.

Title:The deployment of optical access network and its impact on the fifth generation mobile network
Abstract:
The thesis describes the different available optical networks in more detail point-to-point (P2P) and point-to-multipoint (P2MP) passive optical network in tree topology. The various building blocks that make up a fiber to the home (FTTH) network and ensure proper operation are described, such as splitters, fiber optic line terminals, fiber optic network terminals, fiber optic cables and fibers within them. Also presented are the works being carried out on the already built cable sewer for the construction of an optical access network. These are fiber optic cable blowing, fiber preparation and splicing, user connection and management of final measurements. In the following, the fifth generation (5G) mobile networks are presented, how they are used since the previous ones and some of their new features due to the use of higher transmission frequencies. Finally, we present the combination of FTTH networks with the 5G network and their mutual influence. Protocols such as Cooperative Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) are presented that would run on a combined optical and radio access network for dynamic bandwidth allocations between users. Even before the merger of 5G and FTTH, the breakdown of radio access networks and the functional sharing of protocol layers between the network units of the open radio access network (Open RAN) are explained, which enables the synergy of these two technologies.
