The first set problem of the diploma thesis is to establish the entire hot forging process for the required product. As a continuation, the energy optimization of the entire process followed.
It was necessary to theoretically determine the parameters related to the material properties and the final shape of the forged product, followed by tool modeling in the SolidWorks modeler, and the import of individual tool sketches and simulation in the QForm software environment. In order to find the optimal temperature for the entire process, the simulation was performed at different temperatures.
The process, which included simulations in the temperature range from 700°C to 1250°C, confirmed the predictions, namely that the optimal temperature of the entire process is when the raw material is heated to an initial temperature of 700°C. This is because the majority of energy is used for initial heating.
