The engineering design process of an automatic system for cleaning protective glass
panels for cameras on autonomous farming robots is described in this final thesis.
This product allows a robot to clean a protective glass and restores uninterrupted
camera vision, resulting in less robot downtime. Development includes an overview
of products with similar main functions, a trawl for the best main working principle
with functionality test, evaluation of needs and specifications; development of technical
process and function structure; concept design; technical and administrative support
economic comparison of concepts; searching for standard and bought components and
the final development of the chosen concept. Finaly, costs of building a prototype are
evaluated.
