This Bachelor's thesis entitled Personal finance management presents the concept of personal finance and how to manage it to achieve the desired goals, which differ depending on the time period which we live in. In order to manage your finances well, you need to constantly monitor and control the state of your investments and debts. I chose this topic because I am approaching a time in my life when I will have to start efficiently managing my finances; at the same time I also wanted to become more familiar with savings and debts in Slovenia. Having sufficient knowledge of these topics is essential for efficient management of personal finances, which is why the thesis also presents the basic concepts of personal finances. I conducted a survey to ask a random population about their personal finance management and compare it with data from SURS. I was also interested in how saving, debts and insurance depend on age, profession and level of education. Due to the pandemic, Slovenians have been saving more in recent years, as the measures made consumption more difficult. Household debt also decreased during this period. With the help of the survey, I confirmed the fact that Slovenians are very conservative and averse when it comes to risks when saving.
