The purpose of the thesis was to design and create an attractive, simple, functional and easy to use clothing rental website.
In the theoretical part, we examined the background of online shopping and renting clothes, guidelines for designing websites, the basis of user experience and user interface, and presented ways to test websites for usability.
With usability testing (heuristic evaluation and user experience testing), we analysed the competition and identified the shortcomings of competing websites.
The results of the analysis were used in the planning and design of the new website. After an interview with potential users, we determined the target group and defined two personas. In planning the website, we designed the information architecture according to the wishes and needs of potential users. We designed the wireframes, and selected the colour palette and typography to finalise the design form of the site. With heuristic evaluation and user experience testing, we checked the usability of the newly designed website, and critically compared these results to the heuristic evaluation and user experience testing of competing websites.
The final result of the thesis is a newly designed website for renting clothes and fashion accessories, which can be realized and put to use for the Slovenian market in the near future.
