The purpose of the diploma thesis is to combine painting and photography into a common whole. The time of the Renaissance painting period will be connected with the present time, where technology is advancing faster and faster. The aim is to use the captured photographs along the paths of Florentine painters in Italy itself, specifically in Tuscany, and to edit them with software to such an extent that they will be as reminiscent as possible of Renaissance art techniques.
In the theoretical part, both techniques, painting, and photography, are presented separately. In painting, the focus is on Renaissance art, specifically on Florentine painting or otherwise called the Florentine school. The works of the most famous painters are also presented. The photography section presents the development of photography including all the mechanical equipment that helped create photographs today. Towards the end, the two techniques will come together, where their common language and all common features will be explored.
In the experimental part, the travel route through the cities of Tuscany is first presented. Later, we focus on the physical equipment used to capture the photographs. Software is introduced that enables more advanced photo processing, which is also used for digital painting and drawing. The following is a presentation of the process of processing photographs, which are later presented in the results and discussion.
