Accurate modelling of electric motor stator is extremely important when setting up a valid dynamic model of the whole electric motor. Stator consists of hundreds of lamellas made from electrical steel and copper winding which additionally contributes to its structural complexity. The efficiency of using transversely isotropic homogenized material parameters for sheet-layered lamination stacks and stator windings was investigated. In order to identify the equivalent material parameters, optimisation of numerical model based on experimentally determined modal parameters was performed. The results indicate efficiency and accuracy in certain frequency range of motor operation. Furthermore, the effect of impregnation on lamination stack's dynamic response was analysed.
