Abstract
Podatke, pridobljene v raziskavi, smo obdelali s programoma Microsoft Excel 2021 in IBM SPSS 25.

Title:Teaching basketball from 6th to 9th grade at primary schools
Abstract:
The purpose of this master thesis was to determine and analyze the range and content of basketball teaching from 6th to 9th grades at primary schools in Novo mesto and its surroundings. We wanted to check what kind of conditions are when teaching basketball and compare those conditions between primary schools in Novo mesto and the surrounding area. We wanted to find out if the selected schools offer basketball extracurricular activities and which basketball competitions they attend. 74 physical education teachers who teach at primary schools in the Dolenjska region were included in the research. 9 primary schools were covered from Novo mesto, and 23 primary schools from the surrounding area. In total, we covered 32 primary schools. 65.9 % of physical educatio teachers who answered to our questionnaire were men and 35.1 % women. We processed the data using Microsoft Excel 2021 and IBM SPSS 25. The results confirm that teachers in Novo mesto schools and schools in the surrounding area teach basketball an all the studied classes. Average numbers of basketball hours instruction in all grades is less than 12 hours per year for boys and girls, respectively. Technical elements are taught to a greater extend than tactical ones. Among the technical elements, teachers devote the most time to practice handling and throwing. For boys and girls, one-basket games dominate, the most popular of which is the 3 : 3 one-basket game. School competitions are organized by 41.9 % of primary schools. The differences between teaching in Novo mesto and the surrounding area are visible in the implementation of extracurricular activities, cooperation with local clubs and participation in the Košarkaški superšolar competition. The results confirm that basketball is an important part of physical education in primary schools in Dolenjska region. Despite some limitations, primary school basketball is at high level. This master thesis presents a model of observing the implementation of one of the sports content at primary school program; this model can be used to study the occurrence of different content in school practice.
