Due to its innovation, the (especially symphonic) work of the composer F. J. B. Dusík is of great importance for Slovenian territory. Many of Dusík's works are kept in numerous European booklets, but the authorship of most has not been confirmed. Some of Dusík's works, especially works from the symphonic opus, are kept in the archives of the National and university library (NUK) Music Collection in Ljubljana. The aim of this work is to illuminate a part of Dusík's preserved opus with a critical edition of Symphony no. 5 in modern edition principles. By reviewing the available literature on notation signs and notation from the time when the composer lived and worked, and the use of specialized programs for writing music, it was possible to create or transfer the old record of Dusík's Symphony no. 5 into a modern notation that follows today’s notation principles. The transcript includes changes that were found to be necessary (dynamic markings, sharps, etc.), for which it was found that they must be added in appropriate places or taken away. The result of the work is a modern record of the symphony. It is believed that it will contribute to the premiere performance of the work in recent times live.
