Gradnik’s contacts with Czech authors can be divided into two periods: 1905-1918 and the 1930s. Cross-cultural connections opened up in the relationship between Gradnik and Oton Berkopec and Gabriela Preissová. Gradnik’s published translations into Czech are mostly from the collection Padajoče zvezde (Falling Stars, 1916) and mostly deal with the theme of existence. Gradnik’s poetry collection was not published in Czech. Based on newly discovered sources, we can assume that Gradnik planned to translate contemporary Czech poetry.
