The paper evaluates the poetic work of Zdenka Serajnik, a little-known poet and rural teacher of Slovene language who, among other things, translated Alma Karlin and participated in the creation of Slovene liturgical books. Her extremely rich poetic oeuvre, which is far from templated and shallow versification, is the fruit of her wide-ranging theological insight and, above all, of her inspiration and mastery of poetic tools. It can be described as a poetic echo of the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965).
