Prešeren’s metaphor sled sence zarje unstranske glorje has mostly engaged the interpretative interest of literary historians. A linguist’s interest, excited by the poet’s cascade of three genitives (a trace of a shadow of the twilight of hereafter glory), will focus rather on which of the various catenations of postmodifiers make for coefficacy of grammar with sense. While genitive metaphors have gained some frequency in modern poetry, chains of (esp. isostructural) attributes remain rare, in non-art registers some also controversial.
