The unexpected coronavirus disease COVID-19 has spread all over the world, affecting all areas of life, including the economy. If we look at the Slovenian economy, this disease has also affected sole proprietors, so it would make sense to look at which forms of social support they received in 2020 and which they did not, but would still be good to receive, because it is possible that due to the lack of social support, a certain number of entrepreneurs will be forced to close their trades. In my master's thesis, I would like to highlight the social support of entrepreneurs of various trades during the spread of COVID-19 and the first six corona aid packages. The theoretical part of the master's thesis includes basic and essential points of social support, a description of coronavirus disease, a description of the self-employment concept, a presentation of the first six corona aid packages adopted by the government social support and quality of life of entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 epidemic. In the empirical part, I researched the presence of social support for the period of the first six corona aid packages on a sample of 15 independent entrepreneurs from the southeastern part of Slovenia who are engaged in a trade or tourism activities. I was interested in the social support they were given at that time (sources, types, perception and network of social support) and whether the social support differs depending on the trade. I found that those entrepreneurs who have direct contact with people (tourism, hairdressing, hospitality) needed more social support, both formal and informal, while those who do not have direct contact (installation, accounting) did not have a clear need for additional social support.
