The thesis focuses on toys / playground equipment, modular and upgradeable furniture. The hypothesis that children's furniture is quickly junked was put forward and confirmed by user analysis.
The research phase gathered information on user needs, materials, manufacturing processes and pedagogical guidelines for the designing quality toys and games.
The design part involves designing modular elements, accessories, anticipating their uses and quick prototyping. The result is a modular playground that offers upgradeable elements and possible solutions for alternative uses of the playground, such as storage furniture. This encourages parents not to throw away the composition, but give it a new function and let the child continue to use it.
