The thesis deals with the development of a high pressure water hydraulic system. The
development started with a conceptual design assuming that water is used as the driving
medium and that the system is capable of reaching high pressures. After validating the
analytical calculations with numerical data, a prototype was designed and built. Several
measurements were made, during which we gradually increased the pressure in the hydraulic
cylinder and monitored the increased pressure in the hydraulic intensifier. We determined
which components are the weakest link in the designed pressure intensifier and presented
possible solutions for its further development.
