As a crisis event and a prolonged state of emergency, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected many aspects of our lives. Being a vulnerable group of young people transitioning to adulthood, students are even more susceptible to various negative influences from the environment. Sudden changes, such as the onset of a pandemic, can halt or hinder the fulfilment of developmental tasks typical for this period. Therefore, a pandemic can have an even greater negative impact on the well-being and mental health of young people transitioning to adulthood. The diploma thesis comprises a qualitative research of how students experienced the health crisis, whether changes occurred in well-being and emotions, how the health crisis affected optimism, what were the perceived consequences of measures introduced to contain the spread of the infections, what were the changes in cognitive functioning and motivation of students, how students experienced stress during the pandemic, what coping strategies they used to manage distress, how familiar were they with the forms of support, and what help they received.
