Introduction: Teams are formed to work together to achieve a set goal. They are part of our daily lives because they connect us at school, family, and work, etc. Organizations or companies form teams to improve productivity and employee satisfaction. A team is a group made up of members who work together and communicate to achieve a specific goal. Purpose: The purpose and goal of the diploma thesis is to investigate the impact of teamwork on the performance of dental laboratory employees and what motivates them to work. We are mainly interested in their relationships with each other and with the clinic. We will present team and teamwork, what the advantages and disadvantages of teamwork, types of teams are, roles in the team, communication in the team, the importance and role of team leader in achieving success, and the importance of motivation. Methods: In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, we used a descriptive method with a review of the existing literature. We searched for literature utilizing libraries and professional databases, such as Cobiss and Google Scholar. A causal-non-experimental method was also used. Results: The research showed that employees in dental laboratories work successfully as a team. Thus, the employees cooperate and communicate with each other and with the clinic which is extremely important for success. They are also aware of the factors that are important for their successful work. They are motivated for their work and have the support of management and team leaders. Discussion and conclusion: The basic condition for the operation and success of the team is mutual communication and cooperation of all members. The team leader is very important in the process because a successful leader means a successful team. Motivation is also very important in a team because, without it, a person cannot do any activity. For successful teamwork, it is necessary to find the right factors that lead us to an efficient team and, thus, to more efficient business and success of the company.
