Aircraft scaffolding is an important part of aircraft maintenance and servicing. It allows for easier, faster and safer access to all of the aircraft's servicing surfaces.
The aim of our diploma tesis was to design an aircraft servicing scaffold for the tail of the CRJ700/900. We used SolidWorks as our modeling program to accurately model the service scaffolding. Afterwards we used the 3D model for the static calculation of the supports.
We started the construction by acquiring all the necessary dimentions of the aircraft and choosing the correct support beams. We then modeled the load bearing structure, work surfaces and stairs that connect all the work surfaces.
Finally we performed a static calculation of the main support structure and checked the forces that occur in the supports. We also checked the deflection forces of the moast burdened supports.
