Abstract
Uvod: Komunikacija je osnovna človekova potreba in je del vsakdanjega življenja od rojstva pa vse do smrti. Je prenos informacij od ene osebe do druge. Komuniciramo lahko enosmerno ali dvosmerno, zavedno ali nezavedno ter verbalno ali neverbalno. V katerikoli interakciji s sočlovekom je zaželeno, da se verbalna in neverbalna komunikacija skladata, še posebej pa to velja za zapletene in občutljive situacije, ki jih ljudje doživijo v zdravstvenem okolju. Namen: Predstaviti pomen skladnosti verbalne in neverbalne komunikacije v zdravstveni obravnavi pacienta. Metode dela: V diplomskem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela. Za izdelavo diplomskega dela smo pregledali strokovno domačo in tujo literaturo s področja verbalne in neverbalne komunikacije v podatkovnih bazah CINAHL, Medline, Wiley Online Library in Research Gate. S pomočjo ključnih besed verbalna (verbal) IN non-verbal (neverbalna) IN komunikacija (communication) IN pacient (patient) IN zdravstveni delavec (health care professional) smo izbrali literaturo v slovenskem in angleškem jeziku iz obdobja med 2012 in 2022. Dostopna je v obliki celotnega zapisa. V pregled literature smo vključili 11 enot literature. Rezultati: Veliko raziskav dokazuje, da je komunikacija ključnega pomena, še toliko bolj pa skladnost verbalnega načina komuniciranja in neverbalnega. Raziskave potrjujejo, da s skladnostjo teh dveh zagotovimo dobre temelje odnosa med zdravstvenim osebjem in pacientom. Razprava in zaključek: S temeljito in usklajeno verbalno in neverbalno komunikacijo pomembno vplivamo na izid hospitalizacije. Pomembno je, da se zdravstveni delavci tega zavedajo in neprestano izobražujejo ter izboljšujejo svoje komunikacijske veščine.

Title:Importance of compatibility of verbal and non-verbal communication in health treatment of the patient : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Communication is a basic human need and a part of everyday life from birth to death. The imparting of information from one person to another. We can communicate one-way or two-way, consciously or unconsciously and verbally or non-verbally. It is desirable that verbal and non-verbal communication are compatible in any interaction with another human being, even more so in complex and sensitive situations that people experience in a health care institutions. Purpose: To present thesis investigated the importance of consistency between verbal and non-verbal communication in medical tretment of a patient. Methods: In the diploma work we used a descriptive method of work. We reviewed scientific literature in the field of verbal and non-verbal communication in the databases CINAHL, Medline, Wiley Online Library and Research Gate. Using keywords verbal communcation AND non – verbal communication AND communication AND patient AND health care professional we collected literature in Slovenian and Englih language published between years 2012 and 2022 and fully available. The review included 11 units of literature. Results: Many studies provide evidence on the crucial role of communication and especially the consistency between verbal and non-verbal ways of communication. The consistency between the two modes od communication ensures a good foundation for the relationship between the medical staff and the patient. Discussion and conclusion: With thorough and consistent verbal and non-verbal communication, we significantly impact the outcome of hospitalization. It is important that healthcare professionals are aware of this and are constantly educating and improving their communication skills.
