Introduction: Asthma is a heterogeneous disease, common in adolescence, in addition to other symptoms obstructing airflow. It can take place with many complications. It is divided at the level of endotype and severity. It can affect a child's quality of life. Vitamin D affects skeletal health, but it is also an area of active research where they gather evidence of external skeletal effects. Purpose: The purpose of the thesis was to present asthma in children, to describe vitamin D, to investigate the use of vitamin D on asthma, to present research that children studied the effect of vitamin D on childhood asthma, and to define the role of nurses in the health and treatment of children with asthma. Methods: In the diploma work we used a descriptive method. We reviewed and analyzed the professional and scientific literature in the field of pediatrics. The articles were available entirely free of charge in published between 2010 and 2021. Results: We used our research to examine the effect of vitamin D on asthma in children. The effects of vitamin D on various symptoms were analyzed in the included studies. Analysis of the articles showed conflicting results, and the authors point out that further research is needed on the effect of vitamin D on childhood asthma. Discussion and conclusion: Vitamin D is known to play an important role in the human body and ensure health, and according to the presented research, also the symptoms of childhood asthma. Further clinical trials are needed in this area to prepare whether vitamin D or asthma cure to assess optimal health dosing and the safety of vitamin D supplementation. There is currently insufficient evidence to support the positive effect of vitamin D on the prevention and asthma management in children.
