The master thesis focuses on the spatial issue of degraded areas of the city of Kranj along the Sava River, which are a result of the industry collapse. The thesis proposes in more detail a revitalization plan for the degraded urban area of Kranj railway station. Based on our analysis, inventory, spatial studies and documentation review, we identified the main shortcomings of the area to be the absence of green areas, outdated concept of the railway station and bad accessibility and disconnectedness of urban areas, which due to the natural characteristics of the surrounding environment. Therefore, the conceptual design is based on the establishment of new connections, which would facilitate accessibility and attract more users to use public transport. Simultaneously, the establishment of new connections dictates the design of the railway station, which includes new types of public transport with the addition of a bus station, city bike stops and taxis. An upgrade of the existing spatial condition would also be the placement of green areas. Those would provide a new public space for various events and would have an effect on the quality of life in the city.
