Abstract
V nalogi so predstavljena izhodišča in razvoj omrežja TEN-T na območju Slovenije in v EU, pomembnost uporabe trajnostne mobilnosti in interoperabilnost železniškega sistema.

Title:Conceptual design of the railway connection between Ljubljana and Celje through the Tuhinj valley : master thesis
Abstract:
In recent decades, the competitive connection of cities has become increasingly important for the integrated development and sustainable mobility of regions. As there is a lack of competitive connections in Slovenia, this master thesis develops and discusses the conceptual design of a new railway connection between Ljubljana and Celje through the Tuhinj Valley. The paper presents the founding and development of the TEN-T network in Slovenia and the EU, the importance of using sustainable mobility and the interoperability of the railway system. Following, the boundary conditions of a new double-track electrified railway route from Kamnik Graben–Vransko–Breg pri Polzeli, as well as the necessary software tools and technical requirements are described. The latter functions as a basis of rule for five possible design variants of the railway line. These are graphically illustrated and, based on the method of evaluating variants, the most suitable case is selected, described and optimized. In total, it provides a 20-minute faster option in comparison to the existing line from Ljubljana–Zidani Most–Celje. The final design invites further research in regard to other professions, to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to the project.
