The thesis highlights bodily existence as the primary form of human existence in the world. The introduction to the discussion is conducted through philosophy as a way of life that anchors the idea in the discussion and is in fact the red thread of the entire master's thesis - philosophy is more than just a subject of study; philosophy as the art of living, which in its own thought places great emphasis on a practice that possesses greater respect than the written word. Philosophers who conveyed such a philosophy in their own minds are noticeable to have been inspired by Hellenistic philosophy, that is, by pre-Socratic thinkers whose treatment of human existence was closely connected with nature and the search for truth within themselves, in self-care. Such a tradition is the tantric tradition of haṭhayoga, which was (and still is) insightful in one’s own perception of the body; through various bodily techniques they are on the path of divinization of bodily existence. Phenomenology also turns to the living body and the human experience of the world, but at the same time exposes the problem of the absence of the body from experience.
