The master's thesis entitled Differences and similarities between male and female serial killers is based on a theoretical approach, in which I will identify differences and similarities between them with the help of critical comparative analysis of scientific literature and elements of discursive analysis of male and female serial killers. The aim of the thesis is to show that, regardless of the different methods, modus operandi and motives for the murders, they are in fact very similar. What characterizes them the most is a difficult childhood, full of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, which results in serial killing. In my master's thesis, I will show in what way and why a mother is the most fatal woman in the life of a serial killer - regardless of whether her upbringing was sadistic or possessive, and how the father contributed to this. Finally, I will focus on the media representation of male and female serial killers, which is much more unforgiving to women than to men, which ultimately also affects public perception of them.
