We use sensors to measure different quantities in different conditions. The welded joint of the housing must be of sufficient quality to withstand certain loads. As part of the thesis, we welded the sensor housing samples from PC-ABS polymer by the ultrasonic welding process. During welding, we changed some parameters and stored data recorded by the device. Welding was followed by visual inspection of welded joints, which was used to determine defective welds. We found that the excess material, due to the sprue, affects the quality and appearance of the weld. By reducing the distance between the welding parts, we get a better weld quality. By combining pieces of housings with different material properties and replacement, we obtain a welded joint with fewer defects.
