Introduction: Chronic fatigue is one of the most common symptom in cancer patients because of treatment and/or illness. Patients subjectively describe chronic fatigue as a very debilitating symptom that persists for months or years after treatment. For them, this represents a burden that affects their daily routine and relationships with other people. It can be relieved by various non-pharmacological and pharmacological approaches. Purpose: The purpose of the work is to present the possibilities of relieving chronic fatigue in cancer patients. Methods: In the work was used a descriptive method with systematic literature overview, searched in the databases CINAHL, PubMed, ScienceDirect, by using remote access to the digital library in Ljubljana (DiKUL) and using the Cooperative online bibliographic sistem (COBISS.SI). Literature collection took place from January 2020 to May 2020. Seventeen articles have been used to present the results. The strength of the evidence of the analyzed studies was evaluated on a 4-point scale. The results are presented in tables and descriptively. Results: We found out that chronic fatigue is one of the most common and stressful symptoms that cancer patients have. Approaches to relieving chronic fatigue such as; physical activity, yoga, acupuncture, music therapy and guarana have been shown to be more effective than pharmacological approaches- psychostimulants and corticosteroids, addition of vitamin C intravenously). In physical activity, acupuncture, and other approaches, cancer patients have seen an improvement in chronic fatigue after just two weeks of using. All cancer patients should first be offered options for relieving chronic fatigue, with non-pharmacological approaches, and supplemented with pharmacological ones only in the severe form. Discussion and conclusion: Cancer patients suffering from chronic fatigue are powerless and often uninformed. It is a more complex and demanding problem that limits their quality of life. In the field of relieving chronic fatigue in cancer patients, many studies have been conducted that have shown important findings that can also be used in the implementation of nursing care and thus improve: in the field of its relief, well-being and quality of life of cancer patients.
