In the thesis we presented the rationalization of the production process in a company that produces furniture for ships and yachts. As a good example we used the Japanese firm Toyota and their Toyota production system. To perform the rationalization we used different methods and tools of lean manufacturing. We have analysed the current state of the company, determined the main sources of lost time, suggested improvements, some of which we introduced to the process, and compared the results based on a project that has been carried out several times. We found that the state of the company improved, especially in the production part of the process, after implementing two changes. That confirmed our opinion that rationalization of the production process in the company is needed, logical and beneficial.
