In today’s world, where television is one of the most important media sources of information and entertainment, it is important that it allows the viewer to empathize with the created reality without trying too hard to understand the content. In order for viewers to be willing to watch certain television programs and their content again, it must offer them satisfaction while watching: with the help of television production graphics or simply an esthetic appeal of certain shows.
The aim of the diploma thesis was to investigate television production graphics. Starting from the examples on television, the purpose and definition of the purpose of each type of graphic was made, as well as the study of how viewers perceive and accept this type of help to understand the content.
The theoretical part of the thesis presents television production graphics and its importantce for viewers, how and when they are used in shows and the difference between graphics in informative and entertaining shows. This is followed by an explanation of the work of the graphic operator, a description of his or her role during the broadcast, whether it is pre-recorded or recorded live.
In the experimental part, an analysis of the television production graphics is conducted comparing it between an informative and an entertaining show on commercial television POP TV. Next, was wanted to find out how effective the graphics are in practice, so it was performed an online survey among the television viewers. Based on the survey, was made recommendations for the use of television production graphics for media purposes in television broadcasts.
During the research, was found that the use of television production graphics is very important for the viewers of television content as graphic helps them to follow and understand the content. The use of graphic elements in the image contributes to recognition and the creation of a successful brand.
