Human’s life, work and activity nowadays mostly takes place indoors. That is why it’s important to ensure correct standard and quality of living, which is extremely dependent on the temperature of interior spaces. Fan-coil is a device, which allows heating, cooling and even dehumidification of spaces. Due to similar principles of hot or cool water preparation as for radiators it became one of the most popular methods of heating or cooling together with ventilation in new and old buildings. However, it is mostly used in builds of business type where occasional medium to high cooling is required and where precise humidity control is not required. Fan-coils can also be solely used for aesthetic reasons. In this thesis we researched different types of fan-coils and determined characteristics of selected fan-coil. Experimental setup was prepared with every needed measuring instruments and equipment for hot and cool water preparation for our fan-coil as for chamber’s wall radiators. Based on experimental measurements we determined fan-coil characteristics, which is presented as a graph of thermal heating or cooling power as a function of the volumetric flow of water, flowing through the fan-coil. Finally, the results were compared with the theoretical characteristics of the selected fan-coil upon which we determined causes of deviations and errors.
