In this graduation thesis I explore problems of social care system from the aspect of professional workers employed in the field of social care services in municipality of Nova Gorica. Besides problems in social care system, the main subjects I explore are also the quantity of time that is available for employees, what is the staff situation, presence of stress, burning out and users’ violence towards employees, which are the best and the worst elements of social care services, the meaning of bureaucracy in social care services, what are the solutions, what is the role of superiors’ listening, what is the legislation like and what is the role of educational courses. The results of the qualitative research on a non-random casual sample in which I included seven professional workers from six different social care services, show that the legislation is inadequate in terms of financing and staff policy which represents the main problem of social care system. The shortage of time, presence of stress, employees' burning out and users' violence towards employees have also been confirmed. Amongst the best elements of social care services is their scheme and availability. Too much of bureaucracy in social care system is partially confirmed and the role of technical support is inadequate in coping with it. Listening of superiors is marked as good and lastly, the role of educational courses is inadequate. From these findings follow suggestions for better execution of social care services and social care system in general, as the findings are also generalized to a broader picture of social care system.
