Barvanje z naravnimi barvili uporabljenimi v Majevski kulturi

Izvleček
Namen diplomskega dela je razložiti, kako lahko v tekstilni industriji nadomestimo sintetična barvila z naravnimi, da se jih uporabi kot nekoč v smislu manjše globalne proizvodnje in ekološke produkcije. Opravljen je bil poskus barvanja surovega bombaža in surove volne z naravnim rdečim barvilom, imenovanim karmin, ki je pridobljen iz sušenih samic žuželk roda košeniljke (Dactylopius coccus) iz Srednje in Južne Amerike. Uporabljene so bile tri različne čimže, ki dajo v različnih pH-medijih različen razpon barvnih odtenkov, od rumene do globoke rdeče in vijoličaste. Po končanem poskusu so bile barve vzorcev spektrofotometrično ovrednotene z uporabo barvnega prostora CIE L* a* b*. Iz rezultatov je razvidno, da so volneni vzorci absorbirali več barvila karmin kot bombažni. Najgloblje obarvanje je bilo doseženo z barvanjem vzorcev volne in bombaža v kisli barvalni kopeli, najslabše pa z barvanjem v alkalni barvalni kopeli, kjer vzorci niso absorbirali barvila, ampak so le porumeneli. Kar zadeva uporabljeno čimžo, so imeli najvišjo vrednost K/S vzorci bombaža in volne, ki so bili čimžani z aluminijevim sulfatom. Najnižjo vrednost oziroma najnižjo globino obarvanja so imeli nečimžani vzorci.

Naslov:Dyeing with natural dyes used in Mayan culture

The purpose of this thesis is to explain how it is possible to replace the synthetic dyes with the natural ones in the textile industry, to use them as before in terms of smaller global and ecological production. An experiment was made by dyeing raw cotton and raw wool with a natural red dye called Carmine, obtained from dried female cochineal insects (Dactylopius coccus), native to South America. Three different mordants were used, which in different pH media caused a different range of color shades, from yellow to deep red and purple. After the experiment, the colored samples were spectrophotometrically evaluated using the CIE L* a* b* color space. The results show that the wool samples absorbed more cochineal dye than the cotton samples. The deepest color strength was achieved when wool and cotton samples were dyed in an acid dye bath, however in the alkaline dye bath the samples did not absorb the dye, they only turned slightly yellow. As for the mordants used, cotton and wool samples had the highest K/S value when mordanted with aluminum sulfate. The lowest color strength was obtained by the samples that were not mordanted.
