The thesis deals with the implementation of a plant growing environment, which is as autonomous as possible and optimized for operation at a garden in the Slovenian geographical location. It includes concept selection, adittion of functions in the form of mechanical and electronic elements, and implementation of a controller using the open source Arduino platform. Thus, we had to design a suitable mechanical framework that provides a proper environment for growing plants and the installation of various actuators and sensors that will allow the system to operate as independently as possible - this includes functions such as watering, ambient temperature control, etc. It was necessary to offer the end user a simple overview of the system status and enter the desired operating parameters. Finally, we also explored the possibility of using an alternative source of electricity.
