Abstract
Magistrsko delo sestavljata teoretični in raziskovalni del. V teoretičnem delu na podlagi strokovne literature orišem področja, pomembna za obravnavano problematiko. Pišem o socialnih omrežjih, njihovih pozitivnih in negativnih učinkih, socialnem kapitalu, idealizirani samopredstavitvi, zavisti in ostalih relevantnih področjih. V raziskovalnem delu sledi prikaz kvantitativnih podatkov, ki sem jih pridobila s pomočjo stodevetih udeležencev v raziskavi. V anketnem vprašalniku postavljam vprašanja, ki odgovarjajo na relevantnost odziva gledalcev na socialnih omrežjih, na idealizirano samopredstavitev, zaupanje v spletne vsebine, objavljanje negativnih vidikov življenja na socialna omrežja, primerjanje lastnega življenja s prikazanim spletnim življenjem drugih uporabnikov socialnih omrežij, osmišljanju lastnega življenja ob spremljanju objav … Po statistični obdelavi pridobljenih podatkov v nalogi ovržem ali potrdim vnaprej postavljene hipoteze. Temu sledijo še razprava, sklepi in predlogi. V nalogi ugotovim, da je raziskovanje dotične teme smiselno in da mladi prepoznavajo problematiko idealizirane samopredstavitve na socialnih omrežjih. Kljub temu sodelujoči menijo, da se sami na spletu ne predstavljajo idealizirano in da njihovo resnično življenje izgleda enako, kakor ga predstavljajo na socialnih omrežjih. Kljub temu rezultati dokazujejo, da mladi objavam na socialnih omrežjih največkrat ne verjamejo. Svojega življenja s prikazanimi spletnimi življenji drugih uporabnikov socialnih omrežij ne primerjajo v veliki meri, a vseeno doživljajo občutek, da ne živijo enako polnega življenja kot drugi uporabniki socialnih omrežij. Kljub temu da v vprašalniku anonimno sprašujem po osebnih podatkih, ki pa bi posameznike lahko spravili v nelagodje, se pojavi dilema, ali so bili sodelujoči v moji raziskavi pri podajanju odgovorov iskreni.

Title:Idealized Self-Presentation on Social Networks
Abstract:
The master's thesis consists of a theoretical and a research part. In the theoretical part I outline areas that are important for the discussed issues through the academic articles. I write about social networks, their positive and negative effects, social capital, idealized self-presentation, envy and other relevant areas. The theoretical work is followed by a presentation of quantitative data, which I obtained with the help of one hundred and nine participants. In the questionnaire, I ask questions that answer the relevance of the response of viewers on social networks, idealized self-presentation, trust in online content, negative aspects of life on social networks, comparing one's own life with the online life of other social network users… After statistical processing of the obtained data in the thesis, I refuse or confirm the hypotheses set in advance, followed by a discussion, conclusions and proposals. In the thesis, I find that researching the topic makes sense and that young people recognize the issue of idealized self-presentation on social networks. Nevertheless, participants feel that they do not present themselves ideally online and that their real life looks the same as they present it on social media. Still, the results show that young people most often do not believe in posts on social networks. They do not compare their lives with the online lives of others users of social networks to a large extent, but they still experience the feeling that they do not live life as full as other users of social networks. Despite anonymous questionnaire, I was asking for personal information, which could make individuals uncomfortable - a dilemma arises as to whether the participants in my research were honest in giving answers.
