The master's thesis deals with the traffic issues of the Ljubljana urban region in connection with the location of business entities in the region. The existing transport measures presented in the strategic documents solve the traffic problem, but do not eliminate the origin of the problem, which is represented by the strong concentration of jobs in Ljubljana. The master's thesis summarizes all important strategic documents at national and regional level. Then we present an example of resolving traffic congestion from Norway, where the strengthening of the settlements in the vicinity of Oslo, with the simultaneous development of transport infrastructure, was seen as a solution to relieve traffic in Oslo. Since we transferred the polycentric approach to our case, we focused on the centers that are defined in the Spatial Development Strategy of Slovenia (2004) as centers of national, regional, and inter-municipal importance in the analytical part of the thesis. We analyzed the demographic and economic characteristics of the region and selected centers, daily labor migration, road, rail and public transport, the location of business entities and the stock of undeveloped building land. Based on the findings, we prepared a proposal of guidelines for the further placement of business entities in space and related solutions. We complete the master's thesis by verification of the measures on the case.
