This master’s thesis explores the life of the Austrian Empress and Hungarian Queen Elisabeth of Austria, and her public image, based on the significant or fatal events, which were reported by both German- and Slovenian-language newspapers. In the foreground of the central part is the analysis of newspaper articles that put her life into context, as well as the turning points of the time of her reign. In this way, both the Austrian and Slovenian views of the Empress are created.
