In today’s time, more and more people are unemployed and consequently find themselves on the list of vulnerable persons, particularly those, who are unemployed for a longer period of time and have no income. Because they do not have any income, many of them turn to Social services, where they apply for financial social assistance. In addition to receiving financial social assistance, some of them decide to spent their excess time to perform personal supplementary work.
The purpose of the thesis is to study the field of financial social assistance and the field of performing additional supplementary work and identify the connection between the possibilities to perform personal supplementary work and experiences of people, who already perform such work and receive financial social assistance.
The theoretical part of the thesis is based on the study of domestic and foreign professional literature and for the research, we use the interview method. We interview three recipients of financial social assistance, who perform personal supplementary work. We find that people decided to perform such work, because they were unemployed, because their income was too low to establish a business and in order to perform their work legally.
The thesis presents different views of interviewees on performing personal supplementary work and receiving financial social assistance, which is also manifesting in their answers. The findings also show that compared to previous researches, the percentage of recipients of financial social assistance is changing. This year, their number is increasing due to the epidemic.
