In 2020 we studied the activity of wild game and the damage they have inflicted on the agricultural land in the Zgornja Savinjska valley. In random places we visually estimated the size of the land, its protection and the different species of wild game the size of the damage on the land and species of wild game which cauesed a damage on the land. We found out that the most damage was done by the wild boar (Sus scrofa) namely by digging through the meadows, pastures and corn and hops fields. The damage done by deer (Cervus elaphus) and roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) was in most cases negligible. There was no damage found done by mouflon (Ovis ammon musimon). Some land owners protected their land from wild game with an electric fence, scarecrows and colorful tape but despite the protection the wild game in most cases still got to the fields and done damage. We note that the extent of the damage was dependant on the number of the wild game, the amount of the food in the forests and how close the property was from the forrest.
