Abstract
V magistrskem delu smo analizirali prevladujoče trende oblikovanja knjig pri izbranih založbah v Sloveniji. Pregledali smo prevladujoče barve ter uporabo slikovnega gradiva pri oblikovanju naslovnic. Zanimalo nas je tudi, ali založbe spreminjajo notranje oblikovanje knjig, da bi s tem povečevali obseg in posledično maloprodajno ceno knjig. Ker se obseg knjig lahko povečuje tudi z dodajanjem dodatne vsebine, smo preverili, ali knjige vsebujejo tudi oglase za druge knjige iste zbirke, avtorja ali založbe. Raziskava je pokazala, da se določene barve pojavljajo pogosteje, naj bo to zaradi žanra knjig, njihove vsebine ali oblikovalskih odločitev pri posameznih založbah. Založbe imajo tudi precej različne standarde glede velikosti črk in razmika med vrsticami. Podobno se nekatere založbe pogosteje odločajo za vključitev oglasov za druge knjige, kar posledično povečuje število strani v knjigah.

Title:Changes in book design in translated and original books in Slovenia between 2008 and 2018
Abstract:
The master thesis discuses book design in Slovenia. We also reviewed the predominant colours and the use of photos and illustrations in cover design. The thesis also looked at layout in order to find out whether in last ten years, publishers, by changing layout, started to increase the volume of published books in order to increase the retail prices. Research has shown that certain colours appear more often, be it due to the genre of the books, their content, or the design decisions of individual publishers. Publishers have quite different standards in terms of font size and line spacing. Similarly, some publishers are more likely to include ads for other books, which in turn increases the number of pages in the books.
