The master's thesis describes the development of a cable organizer according to the method of advanced product quality planning. It closely monitors product design from idea to prototype. The emphasis is on performing failure mode and effects analysis, and comparing the cost of prototyping with 3D printing and CNC milling.
In the master 's thesis, we first discussed the theoretical foundations of advanced product quality planning, failure mode and effects analysis, and rapid prototyping technology. In the following, we focused on the systematic development of the cable organizer. We analyzed the customer’s voice, looked for competing products in the market, and designed the initial concept. We then thoroughly performed failure mode and effects analysis and optimized the initial design. Finally, we compared the cost of making a prototype made with 3D printing or milling.
