The use of nuclear weapons, due to its all ensuing nature and because, they are crucial to events in history, need to be analysed in depth. The existence of nuclear weapons has a decisive impact on the whole world. If we want to understand the essence of decision making on the use of nuclear weapons and any related concepts, of nuclear weapons, strategies, policies, we need to delve into a broad topic, that always brings some additional knowledge. The fundamental problem of decision making regarding the use of nuclear weapons, is to shatter a multitude of different theoretical paradigms, that define nuclear weapons, the decision making process, use and the conception, as introduced by individual countries that potentialy can use nuclear weapons. In nuclear nations, many institutions, internal and external are involved in managing these weapons. Countries have developed many strategies and policies that govern the management of nuclear weapons, and help understand the threat that nuclear weapons bring.
In my thesis I have, trough basic concepts, through an analysis of historical context analysis of strategies and policies, found the link between these concepts, the link is strong. My key finding is that nuclear weapons are immensely dangerous, the consequences are great, and humanity has, trough its institutions, refined the strategies and policies governing nuclear decision making policies. In the individual countries, we can indentify individuals who, depending on the structure of the political system make their own or collective decisions about the use of nuclear weapons.
