In spite of bad predictions for journalism, when internet became a phenomena, it survived, but because of new trends it had to adapt. A big transformation happened in sports pages. Reporters have adapted genres, where they (mostly) write journalistic text using linguistic characteristics. The change also affected lectors, who are an important factor in creating texts in Slovenian journalism. In this master thesis we verified whether the linguistic styled means are often used in sports journalism in Večer (our focus was football and skiing, theoretical part was focused on the article of T. Korošec (2005)) and how news reporters and lectors perceive their collaboration when writing articles. For the latter we based our thesis on a research conducted by G. Červ in N. Logar Berginc (2009). With the method of analyzing texts, we discovered that there is a great use of stylistic features in sports articles in Večer, mostly in articles by sports commentators. In semi structured interviews, conducted with three journalists and two lectors of newspaper Večer, the interviewers explained that their common work place and time allows them to have a good collaboration. However, they still mostly communicate through their on-line word processor. Lectors allow more freedom with linguistics means in interpretive genres. They are aware that trends in informative genres of sports journalism demand variety of linguistic means.
