Tema Fausta v Strniševih Žabah

Diplomska naloga obravnava faustovsko tematiko v Strniševi drami. Na podlagi primerjave z Goethejevim Faustom poskuša osvetliti elemente, ki so podobni in ugotoviti, ali gre za predelavo faustovskega lika. Naloga vsebuje kratek povzetek faustovske tematike skozi zgodovino, pa tudi žanr in recepcijo, ki podajo nujni kontekst za razumevanje del. Nato se osredotoči na primerjavo: najprej na zgodbeni ravni, nato glede na karakterizacijo likov, na koncu pa preko motivov hrepenenja, pakta in polarnosti, ki se pojavijo v obeh delih. Namen primerjave je utemeljiti, zakaj menim, da je Strniševo delo faustovsko tematiko uporabilo za kritičen prikaz materializma.

Izvleček

The undergraduate thesis deals with faustian themes present in Strniša's Žabe. On the basis of comparison with Goethe's Faust, it tries to highlight elements that are similar and discover if it's an interpretation of faustian character. The work includes a short summary of faustian themes throughout history, as well as the genre to provide the necessary context for understanding the works. Then it focuses on comparison, first on a story level, then through character characterization and lastly through motifs of longing, pact, and polarity that appear in both works. The purpose of the comparison is to establish why I believe Strniša's work uses faustian themes to critisise materialism.
