Naslovnice albumov v podžanrih metal glasbe

Raziskovala sem tri podžanre metal glasbe ter njihov razvoj. Izbrala sem death metal, power metal in progresivni metal. Nato sem analizirala in primerjala ovitke gramofonskih plošč obstoječih albumov v izbranih podžanrih, in sicer po njihovem oblikovanju – ilustraciji in tipografskih elementih. Zanimali so me predvsem klišeji v oblikovanju. Pri tem je bil največji poudarek na motivih ter tehnikah ilustracije in tudi izbiri pisav. Po raziskavi sem presodila nujnost prisotnosti klišejskih elementov za uspešno upodobitev podžanrov. Na podlagi ugotovitev sem dodelala lastni pristop k izdelavi končnega izdelka. Cilj naloge je bila izdelava treh maket ovitkov za gramofonske plošče, med katerimi vsaka predstavlja enega izmed izbranih podžanrov.

Abstract

I researched three heavy metal subgenres and their evolution. I chose death metal, power metal, and progressive metal. I then compared the design of already existent record sleeves of vinyl records in those subgenres, with an emphasis on illustration and typography. I was mostly interested in the clichés of the design. After the research, I estimated whether it is necessary to include the cliché elements to visualize the music successfully, and if yes, to what extent. Based on my findings, I decided on my approach to making the final product. The goal of the thesis is to make three models of vinyl record sleeves, each of them representing their subgenre.
